Sovereignty: We Get the Government We Deserve

Sovereignty

We get the government we deserve. Our lack of vigilance has helped create the monstrous, tyrannical Government we have now.

Sovereignty is something to be asserted and upheld.

The degree of sovereignty established by the individuals of a nation over their government is clearly a reflection of their awareness of their inherent rights and their courage in exercising those rights. The saying “we get the government we deserve” sums it up perfectly, a quote which has been attributed to Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and Alexis de Tocqueville among others. Politicians come from the general population. If the average level of consciousness is high, then the average level of consciousness of our elected leaders will also be high. But if the average level of consciousness is low, then the average level of consciousness of our elected leaders will be low too. It’s a reflection that we have created.

Some may argue that politics attracts the most power-hungry control freaks of society, and that politicians are not an accurate reflection of the average person. This is true to some extent, but if our awareness were higher, and we were more active and participatory in our system instead of apathetic and complacent, then we wouldn’t allow the worst types to become our so-called “authorities” or leaders. We would be running for office more and filling the key positions of power ourselves, rather than letting these petty tyrants gain control of the power centers of society, from banking to politics to military to media.

Ultimately, the outer is a reflection of the inner, so in order to really change society and government, we need to start by changing ourselves. We need to start raising our consciousness (www.toolsforfreedom.com has a wonderful report for free when you sign up for a free newsletter – “The Top 20 Ways to Raise Your Consciousness“). Once enough of us start doing that, we will reach a critical mass, society will begin to change for the better and we will reclaim our full sovereignty.
